Europe in the Fall

Michael and I will be traveling to Europe this fall for several reasons:

1. To celebrate 40 years of marriage! Yea God!

We'll spend 10 days on the Croatian coast to celebrate.  (See my Croatia blog link on the side bar.)  Since our honeymoon was a couple of days in Colorado Springs when we lived in Ft. Collins, I guess this means we've come a ways since 1970!  Actually, that goes without saying....I was 19, Michael was 20...both still in college...living in an 8'x35' trailer...me working as a waitress at the Village Inn and Michael working at Baskin Robbins and for my dad in the summers...with a budget that included $2 for gas a week (gas was 25cents a gallon at Gasomat) and $5 for our entertainment fund each week!   The only thing that is the same between then and now is that we still love each other...in fact, we love each other more because of all the things we've gone through in life together.  I recently read an article that said Christians talk about being pro-family, but they encourage their children not to marry until they are financially stable and have lived out a lot of their dreams first.  The article proposed that this was a mistake since marriages help us grow up and grow together.  I think there's a lot of truth in that.

2.  To lead a team from our church to do ministry in Budapest

Two men and three women from our church, all talented, mature Christians will be coming to Budapest from September 25-October 3, and we have a variety of things planned for our time there together.  We'll be helping Campus Crusade for Christ by going into Hungarian public high school English classes and visiting with students and inviting them to some upcoming evangelistic programs with CCC.  We'll also be offering several men's and women's programs, offering one of my "Bible's Love Story" seminars, and participating in evangelistic English classes operating at a Hungarian church in Budapest.
