Christmas is coming....and we are getting the house decorated.  The older I get the more I wonder at whether it is worth all the trouble!!  But it is.

The girls have been coming over every Thursday after Emma and I have our Bible club so we can get ready for Christmas.  Here we are in the hall talking about the advent calendar I made when our kids were little.  Everyone gets a turn putting one of the felt figures on with velcro--one for each day from December 1-25.  Scout had a melt down because she wanted her figure to fit on the pink square (her favorite color).  That's why she refused to look at the camera.  But she got over it pretty quickly when we all started playing follow the leader below:

Every week the girls are making ornaments or gifts for Christmas.  They make quite a mess, but it's fun having them around.

Home for Christmas

Our trip back to the States was delayed a week because I (Gail) contacted a bad case of food poisoning. The many prayers of friends made the flight one of our most comfortable, and it is so good to be in the U.S. with our family again.

Emma and Grace enjoyed playing a game finding specific ornaments on our Christmas tree. This is really the first year they've enjoyed our tree which has so many memories--things Kipp and Nicole made when they were small children, ornaments made by my mother and other decorations that remind us of Christmas past.

We were able to have lunch with Emma in the school lunch room one day. She was quite excited to show us how she could go through the line and pay for her own lunch.

The girls enjoyed their gifts from Mary (our Hungarian land lady and friend)--Little people made from dried clementines, shells and twigs.
